The bridge crosses the face exactly where the gaze should be.

We do not know which side we are on.

The landscape disappears into trees and mist, while the face occupies the place of the path. To move forward, we would have to pass through it.

That changes things.

Some bridges are meant to take us to the other side.

This one seems to ask what we mean by the other side.
