DAMAGED SOUL

For a long time I thought the cracks were accidents.

Then I discovered that some of them had arrived before I did.

There are things we inherit without knowing from whom. A fear. A way of keeping silent. A sadness that appears on perfectly ordinary days.

I have tried to find out which part of all this belongs to me.

It was the wrong question.

I am also made of what did not begin with me.
