MOTHER

We call her mother because we need a word.

Then we add flowers, fertility, protection, sacrifice. The whole repertoire.

But perhaps a mother is also this: someone whose identity ends up covered by everything she has helped to grow.

She is still there underneath.

Worth remembering.
