It does not yet know where it ends.

The face makes its way through stains, cuts and remnants of colour. Something tries to hold it in place while something else returns it to matter.

Perhaps every identity carries that conflict: we want to recognise ourselves in a stable form, yet part of us continues to happen beyond its limits.

Here, the face does not emerge. It is being decided.
